Double gold for Stuðlaberg at the World Gin Awards 2021
Stuðlaberg Gin won gold in the Contemporary category at the World Gin Awards 2021 and was named Best Icelandic Contemporary Gin.
Contemporary is the largest gin category in the world, and more than 800 gins took part. The judges noted an aniseed, liquorice and citrus nose with clear juniper.
Hákon Freyr told mbl.is that awards like these open doors abroad, where the gin was already sold in many countries.
The distillery was then making Stuðlaberg, the Rökkvi coffee liqueur and Loki potato vodka, and was preparing a new line called Pure North.
