Gold for the gin that changes colour: Stuðlaberg Blue at the World Gin Awards

Stuðlaberg Blue Gin won gold in the colour-changing gin category at the World Gin Awards 2025 and was Iceland's category winner; Stuðlaberg Pink took silver.

The blue colour comes from butterfly pea flower, which reacts to acidity – pour in tonic and the gin turns pink. It is built on Stuðlaberg Gin, one of Iceland's most awarded gins, and Hákon says it is a particular hit at cocktail parties.

One judge found it drier than expected at first, with floral notes that come through strongly with tonic. In the same season Þristur won silver at the World Liqueur Awards 2025.
