Bad Mickey was a downtown sports bar at Pósthússtræti 9, just off Austurvöllur, with games on the screens, cold beer, pub food and live music late in the week. In February 2026 it was one of the Reykjavík bars showing the Super Bowl through the night, and on St. Patrick's Day that March Irish musicians played there both afternoon and evening. Its life turned out to be short: by the end of summer 2026 RVK Brewing had taken over the premises for its new downtown taproom. The rooms carry a long nightlife history – around the turn of the century they were Kaffibrennslan, famous for its wide range of bottled beers, then for many years Íslenski barinn, and later the jazz bar Skuggabaldur.
