Oddrúnarbær is a small cottage in Hellisgerði park, built in 1924 and probably the last house built in the old traditional style in Hafnarfjörður; it is named after Oddrún Oddsdóttir, who lived there from 1950 to 1980. After standing empty, it opened as a café in the summer of 1998, and for some years a café ran there every summer. In December 2009 the elf-themed Græna kaffihúsið opened in the cottage, serving Belgian waffles, mulled wine and hot chocolate, with sheepskins on the benches and Icelandic handicrafts for sale. Since 2010 the cottage has been the heart of the Elf Garden.
The cottage still stands and has been the hub of Álfagarðurinn (the Elf Garden) since 2010
