Hard Rock Café (Kringlan) (1987–2005) – Lost Tables
Hard Rock Café opened at Kringlan on 25 July 1987, bringing the American chain's formula of burgers, milkshakes and rock memorabilia on the walls to Reykjavík. It quickly became hugely popular and stayed a familiar stop for families and visitors for almost two decades.

It quickly became hugely popular and stayed a familiar stop for families and visitors for almost two decades. The early rush of popularity faded over the years, and Vísir reported that in the end the restaurant could no longer cover its running costs. It closed on 29 May 2005 after almost 18 years, and Iceland was without a Hard Rock until a new one opened in the city centre in 2016.
The brand returned to Iceland with a new downtown Hard Rock Café in October 2016
