Hverfisbarinn (2001–2010) – Lost Tables

Hverfisbarinn opened in June 2001 on the corner of Hverfisgata and Smiðjustígur, and within two weeks DV's Fókus noted that it had made a good entrance into the city's nightlife. For years it was one of the most popular nightclubs in the capital area.

Hverfisbarinn opened in June 2001 on the corner of Hverfisgata and Smiðjustígur, and within two weeks DV's Fókus noted that it had made a good entrance into the city's nightlife. For years it was one of the most popular nightclubs in the capital area. Its pull faded over time, and by 2010 the new operator said it had come to draw mostly very young guests, pushing older regulars away. In December 2010 it was fully renovated in black and white and reopened as Bankinn. Several short-lived clubs followed in the same rooms, and fans of the old bar held a reunion night in 2015. In 2017 the owners of B5 brought back the old name, but as a quieter beer bar and small concert room rather than the nightclub of old.

Became Bankinn in December 2010, followed by Buddhabar, Mánabar and Park; in 2017 the owners of B5 revived the Hverfisbarinn name as a beer-and-gin bar.
