Karamba (2009–2010) – Lost Tables

Karamba opened in spring 2009 on the ground floor of the old wooden house at Laugavegur 22, a building with a long nightlife history. For a single wild year it was the home of Reykjavík's young indie crowd, with frequent shows by Retro Stefson and FM Belfast.

Karamba opened in spring 2009 on the ground floor of the old wooden house at Laugavegur 22, a building with a long nightlife history. For a single wild year it was the home of Reykjavík's young indie crowd, with frequent shows by Retro Stefson and FM Belfast. Afternoons meant Bloody Marys and board games, and nights ended in dance parties and the occasional impromptu concert. The walls were painted by cartoonists Hugleikur Dagsson and Lóa Hjálmtýsdóttir. Grapevine named it the best all-round bar of 2009, but by summer 2010 it had faded away, remembered as the link between Sirkus and Bakkus.

The street-level space later became the bar Bravó.
