'Ten Drops' was a cosy basement café at Laugavegur 27, a downtown fixture for some three decades (one report even says forty years). It was loved for its brunches, waffles and jazz, and after six in the evening it turned into a little brasserie with wine and cheese platters; its bar counter dated from the 1980s. In 2016 the building's new owner, a Vietnamese restaurant company, gave the café notice, and after failed talks it closed in July 2016, to the dismay of its regulars. A Vietnamese restaurant moved in, and in 2019 the basement became the natural-wine bar Tíu sopar ('Ten Sips'), whose name tips its hat to the old café.
