Vegamót (c. 1998–c. 2018) – Lost Tables
Vegamót, 'the crossroads', on a small side street off Laugavegur, was for about fifteen years one of the biggest and busiest nightclubs downtown. It doubled as a chic and cosy bistro by day and a packed club by night.
Vegamót, 'the crossroads', on a small side street off Laugavegur, was for about fifteen years one of the biggest and busiest nightclubs downtown. It doubled as a chic and cosy bistro by day and a packed club by night. Óli Már Ólason and Andri Björnsson ran it together for more than a decade. In 2013 they 'rested' the nightclub and ran it as a restaurant only, before reopening as a club in December 2015. Later in the decade Vegamót closed for good, and in 2018 a brewery-restaurant opened 'where Vegamót used to be'.
Bastard Brew & Food, a brewpub, opened in the building in 2018.
